What are the living costs in Germany, especially concerning food and rental prices (in larger cities like Frankfurt)?
How much do I have to calculate per month?

Hello Everyone! I plan to do a summer internship in Halle from mid-May to mid-July 2011. Just wanted to find out what stipend would be decent to cover all expenses including rent, travel, utilities, food etc. Please specify what are the major areas of expenditure and the break up of these categories too. Also, what would be the expenses for tourist visits to nearby places along with the inter-city train fares ?

    1. Are Mainz, Hamburg and Aachen considered as expensive city?
Mainz and Aachen are not, Hamburg is expensive

2.What is the average price for single room flat there?
    Mainz, Aachen: ~EUR 350/month
    Hamburg: ~EUR500-600/month

3.What about living expenses for food, etc there?
Depends on you, calculate with some 200-300 Euros on a string budget

4.Is it difficult to find a part-time job there there?
Difficult if you don't speak German and don't have a work permit. With both of those, it's not that difficult.

First of all, I'm sorry for asking the same type of question again and again, but on the other side, I really need ur answers because I'm confused with living expenses in germany. Each city has different amount cost of living. People says large city is more expensive, however I found that it is not so. My conclusion is that we cannot make conclusion about it bcoz it really depends on each individual. Hope u can understand.

Ok my question this time are:
    1. Are Mainz, Hamburg and Aachen considered as expensive city?
2.What is the average price for single room flat there?
3.What about living expenses for food, etc there?
