Your focus is way too narrow. You are concentrating on one very small cog in the organisation that is Newton. Firstly, no business rule exists for things like: pd, disappearing teachers and promotions.
Secondly, there is no coherence between the schools. Principal X feels intimidated by Principal Y. Principal Y feels more qualified that Principal Z etc. Everybody in top management is always trying to cover their backsides and shield themselves from critisism even if the critisism is constructive. Heaven forbid Principal X tries to educate Principal Y. It is just not done. That type of arrogance in management has a ripple effect right down the organisational chart and ultimately disfavours the students. Eg. If Principal Z feels a teacher is not "competent" enough for say Year 5, that teacher will eventually find his/herself working in FOUNDATION PHASE.
So, dont mess with Year 5 but give the students in Preschool, Reception, Year 1 an early disadvantage. They never going to get to Year 5.DUH!!!!!!!! If you looking for a "teacher" that does not have a suitable teaching qualification at Newton, look no further than Foundation Phase. The culprits are sent there to cut their teeth on our children. "To gain experience" Not on my child you don't.
Is this good business or education practice? Mess our kids up and still expect us to pay for the priviledge.
No, I am not defending anybody at NIS. Management have proven that they can defend themselves albeit in a mean, spiteful way and ineffectively. The time has come for the parents to voice their dissatisfaction and trust me, I am going to be first in line.
